About the Author

Kimberly Varela lives with her husband Dennis and her long-haired chihuahua named Bandit in Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas. She enjoys spending time with her children when they come home for the holidays. She has spent many years teaching students to read and write in both English and Spanish. Kim’s other favorite things to do are to attend Mass, travel, ride horses, hike, and spend time with friends. Saint Vincent, Friend of the Poor is her first book. She hopes to write more children’s books about Christian heroes and saints in the near future.
